The Vale Learning and Development Portal (“Portal”) at Valelearning.ca (“the Website”) allows individuals to complete the Vale related training modules necessary to work within Vale Operational Areas. This Privacy Policy explains the ways in which we collect, use, disclose, and otherwise process your personal information in connection with the Portal and Website.
We collect and use your information in order to:
Create and manage your account on the Portal: In order to access the Vale related training modules on the Portal, you will be required to apply for and obtain a unique user PIN. To process your request for a PIN, we collect your first and last name, company name, phone number and email address, and your NORCAT or Vale Contractor Pass Number. If you do not have a NORCAT or Vale Contractor Pass Number, you can request to obtain a Vale Contractor Pass Number by providing your first and last name, date of birth, company name, company phone number, and personal phone number (if applicable). We use this information to confirm your eligibility for, and issue you a Contractor Pass Number.
Record and verify your completion of Vale related training modules: The Portal uses module-based online learning in conjunction with exam validation upon completion of any training module. A record of your course completions as well as the expiry dates are stored within the Portal on the Website, along with your name and Vale Contractor Pass Number. This information is accessed by Vale site supervisors/managers for the purpose of validating your completion of specified training modules and authorization to work on a particular Vale site. These records are searchable through the Training Checkr tool on Valelearning.ca and are therefore potentially accessible to anyone who has your name and Vale Contractor Pass Number.
